I preferred installaing them as my virtual Operating System with the help of VMWARE software.

CounterStrike 1.6 Crashed My Computer !

CounterStrike 1.6 Crashed My Computer !
Today something strange happened to my Counterstrike game !
After 10 minutes of play or so My computer crashed with Showing me a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD).....

Note: Please follow this tutorial if and only if you face the same problem !

What Could have caused it:
  • Click Start ----> select Run ----> type "eventvwr.msc" ---> click (double) "System" option in the window that appears









  • if you get window like this(click here) with RED CROSS (Error) , notedown the time, recall if this is the approximatly the same time when your system was crashed..... then proceed futher.
  • In "Event Viewer" window if the SourceTab shows "IPNATHLP" ,for the same Error above then you should disable ICS (Internet Connection Sharing disabled)

How to Disable Internet Connection Sharing

  • Go to Start ----> Run ---> Type "ncpa.cpl" ---> when "Network Connections" is opened
  • Identify the connection through which you connect to Internet (like my Lan cable directly goes to Modem and modem is configured in Always On mode i.e. PPPoE mode, i.e. Username and PAssword are already saved in modem's/routers webpage. )
  • Right Click on your Connection Icon ----> Properties ---> select "Advanced Tab" see here
  • Deselect both options i.e "All other network users to connect through this copmputer's internet connection" also "All other network users to control or disable the shared internet connection"
  • click ok ----> Reboot your computer
  • Launch your Counterstrike and Hopefully you should see no more system crash while you play.

Please Note: This tutorial is not only for Counterstrike but also for other causes that could have caused your system to crash or reboot unexpectedly.

Virus / Worm Alert PenDrive Users

How to Delete Pen Drive/USB Drive/Portable Disk Virus/Worms

Yesterday Only my USB Drive/Pendrive got infected with " Win32/Hakaglan.I worm "

Long story short: Download NOD32 Antivirus , 30 Day Trial version is good for now, then you may purchase it...http://www.eset.com/download/registered_software.php

Note: I have found not a single Antivirus Solution working for this worm variant.....Only NOD32 Rocked... ! :-)

Steps:

  • Start your Computer in safe mode (internet enabled mode).
  • Donot Open any Folder or any Drive partition by double clicking it.







  • Go to start ---> Run ---> Type "iexplore http://tinyurl.com/c4gpml" without parenthesis "" , save the NOD32 setup on Desktop , Double click to launch install
  • Download NOD32 and install it , reboot your PC.
  • Update it (must).
  • Insert your Pendrive/USB drive/Portable Drive into USB port.
  • Open "My Computer" icon , Identify your Pendrive (donot open it, no double clicking on the pendrive icon),
  • RightClick on Pendrive ---> Select "NOD32 Antivirus Sytem" ---->Let it scan.
  • When scan is complete, select "Scan and Clean" and Let all your Virus burn to Hell.... !
I have full faith in NOD32 Antivirus Solution ... You must purchase it if you love your Data..You wont regret at any level !

Hope this helps more than a Little for every Disheartened USB Drive/PD user.

How To Protect Counter Strike Server !

How To Protect Counter Strike 1.6 Server !

Recently my CounterStrike 1.6 Server got DOS attacked by some bad guys....

but thanks to Anti CSDOS and ICMP disabled my server remained unharmed..

Note: It is your right to protect your server at all/any cost.

So How Did I Protect my counterStrike 1.6 Server from praying eyes...

3 Steps to secure Counter Strike 1.6 Server:

  • Download AntiCSDOS and run it .






  • If you have AMX MODX installed then Never install WebMod Plugin as it is very easily exploitable and an attacker can gain access to your PC files , avoid it at any cost because its patch will not be released in near future.
  • Disable ICMP request by registry editing (be VERY CAUTIOUS while you edit registry).

Proceed

Go to Start --->Run --->Type "regedit" --->Hit enter/return on keyboard ---> open(in order)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters

Method to take Registry Backup of ICMP value

Click "File" (top left of registry window) ---> Select "Export" ---> in Export Registry Window , slect to save it on Desktop ---> give any name to file , i choose "ICMP_ENABLED" for "File name:" option ---> Click Save button --->See if new file appears on Desktop (Donot close Registry window at this point).

Now we may safely proceed to Disable ICMP Requests

Method to Disable ICMP Request:

with this path opened in registry

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters

highlight "Parameters" by single click on it --->now look at the right side of window --->Find "EnableICMPRedirect" option , its a DWORD value, change its value from 1 to 0 (zero).

---->Close the Registry window ----> Reboot your Computer for the changes to take effect.

Hope this should solve your CounteStrike 1.6 DOS attack problems to certain extent but the truth is that the DOS or DDOS attacks are considered to be the most dangerous attacks which are capable enough to bring any system down.... but definately thier effects can be minimized to very low level.
